WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME
From Kuta to Canggu to Ubud.

Walking the busy beachfront of Kuta, to riding our ‘Scooby’ scooter around bustling Canggu side streets, the fresh take on retail, where café meets restaurant meets villa meets “warung”, it’s all good.. very good, its all new and it all makes you stop in your tracks, and want to take it in. Natural use of materials, the unapologetic use of greenery, clear glass, local concrete and raw stone, the accents of lighting and touches of colour, all create a habitat that one just wants to absorb and digest, and definitely partake in.

What really stood out was the experience you get in a single day, where day and night have a very different feel about them. Places that were subdued within the daylight, now pop to life and come alive at night. Making your way down the same streets, it’s a whole ‘nother experience one gets within a single day, Even the music draws you in, where volume gauges have been turned up, even over the next, it seems to not phase the close proximity of neighbouring outlets. It all adds to collective ‘holistic’ experience. In saying all that, it’s the freedom that these store (service, product) concept offerings have, to create their vision and where there seems to be an allowance from the authorities that seem to give approval of these. The byproduct is a multifaceted, highly original, fully creative expression of design, passion and love for retail – “honest customer-centric trade”.

It’s so refreshing to see and be apart of, the appreciation of both culture and local interpretation, and where these global brands and influences have allowed for this individual, locational expression. A global interchange of east meets west, and yet staying true to it’s routes. Bravo Bali, we’re inspired, continue to do it your way, it’s a good show.
